This is our gorgeous Rose and friends.She is here with a group of twelve pigs, both male and female, Kune Kune and Pot bellied breeds who were signed over into our care for welfare reasons.

On arrival they had a skin condition and their feet were completly overgrown. This skin has completly resolved now and We are looking for committed longterm homes for them.

They all have different personalities, some more outgoing than others, just like people.
Due to their history they can be a little reserved, taking their time to get to know new people. It is important that you give them all time to settle and earn their trust but once you do you really see their individual personality.

Pigs are intelligent and social herd animals, so it is very important that they be rehomed with at least one other pig. Pigs love to root, and spend approximately 20% of their time rooting, so it's important that they are provided with the opportunities to do so. Other enrichment ideas such as footballs can be provided, but as pigs are so clever it is important to swap out enrichment regularly so they do not become bored.

They will need continuous access to windproof and waterproof covered shelter or accommodation, which should have a thermally comfortable environment at all times. Wood shelters or plastic insulated ones are preferable as they enable pigs to keep cool in summer and warm in winter. A clean, dry, well-bedded lying area is essential. When the weather is warm they will need to be provided with a wallow and adequate shelter from the sun, as pigs are prone to sunburn and sunstroke! Strong and safe fencing surrounding their enclosure to ensure they cannot escape is also a must.
