Meet gorgeous George, who found himself here after sadly being abandoned, which means we do not have any history of his life before us. What we do know is once he has settled and had time to gain his confidence and begins to trust you he is a sweet loving affectionate cat.
When George first arrived, he stayed hidden inside under his fort but now is venturing out for some fuss where he will rub around you, purring and show his affection. George is very uncertain and fearful of close handling and picking up so we are mindful to be very gentle with him and allow him to choose his interactions.
So far George has not shown a lot of interest in play but in the home and once settled his new owners may discover a playful side. We feel that due to George's nature and temperament he would be better suited to an adult only, low footfall home. We have found he is more comfortable with and favours the company of female staff and volunteers.
Initially George will need a safe and secure quiet room of his own where he can feel at ease and adjust to home life. Once fully settled he will need outside access away from busy roads to explore. As we do not have any history on George it would be hard for us to say how well he gets on with cats, however we feel there could be a possibility of him living with an existing friendly female cat that has lived with cats before, providing he is fully adjusted and gained confidence before any introductions are made.
