Allow us to introduce Charlie, our gorgeous handsome boy..
Unfortunately, Charlie was abandoned by his previous owners and was part of an Inspectorate Investigation. Charlie has been in a cattery environment for not far off a year during the investigation but he is finally ready to find his new home. During this time he has been very untrusting of people and has chosen to spend his time alone with the odd sniff of our hand from time to time. However in the last few weeks Charlie has taken on a new lease of like and very tentatively he hs started to grow in confidence with a few individual members of staff. Given enough time Charlie will gradually come from his hidey spot and will interact with head bumps, fuss, rolling around, purring and even venturing up onto a lap. This is still a very slow process as he learns to trust us and baby steps from us not expecting or pushing for too much too soon. But it is a delight to see.
In terms of a new start in life; we would be looking for an adult only, low footfall home with people who can appreciate that it is going to take Charlie time to even introduce himself to you on his own terms. He will eventually require access to outside, but in the first few week/months he will need his own room to hide away in until he feels secure enough to venture further.
Since Charlie's new found confidence he has taken a shine to his female neighbours. We feel that Charlie could potentially live with a friendly, calm female cat that is used to living with another cat. However Charlie will need to be fully adjusted to his new home, feeling confident with his new owners before introductions are made. We feel it will be too overwhelming for Charlie to live with a dog.
We hope that in time Charlie will settle and come round to knowing what life can really be like, and with a slow approach and quiet home in the suburbs he will once again blossom.
