Handsome Diesel says he is ready to find his special someone.
Diesel is a 2.5 year old Lurcher x Whippet. He came to our care at the end of September and is one of the longest residents in kennels. He was abandoned by his previous owner and we don?t have much of a history of him as our inspectors were unable to get in touch with the owner.

Diesel has a playful nature when he feels comfortable around his handlers. He is also happy to engage in solo play if attention is not given. He loves toys, food and obviously running! It took a while for us to discover his real personality. Diesel is sensitive around his body and will find overwhelming being touched by strangers although he is happy to approach people on his walks. He will need understanding adopters who are willing to give him the time he needs to gain trust and who will respect his boundaries. We will support his new family to introduce handling techniques Diesel responded to really well and also offer post adoption help. Adopters must be prepared for multiple visits at the centre.

Diesel is playful around other dogs but may be a little vocal if he is not allowed to greet them. We are teaching him that it's ok not to greet every dog and engage with the handler. We recommend his training post adoption but the ideal home for Diesel should be in a low dog populated area.
