Brought into our care as his needs could not be fully met, allow us to introduce Koda. This gentle giant is now looking to find his forever home.
Koda is a loving boy that needs time and patience to bond and settle with his carers. As you can see, he is a large Akita x. With this in mind, potential adopters should be aware he can occasionally be strong when walking on lead. Here he is walked with a halti and this has proven very beneficial. He will often be seen walking at his handler?s side out on the fields. This is then removed in off-lead areas and he can freely explore.
A cuddle bug when off-lead, potential adopters would benefit from continuing his training outside of the centre as Koda learns to bond with his new family.
Due to Koda's size, it would be desirable for adopters to have previous experience with larger dog breeds such as Akita?s. He will require a secure garden with minimum fencing size at 6ft high. Due to his size, we feel that he could live with children of secondary school age and above depending on introductions done here at the centre.
