Meet the ever so smiley Dexter! Sadly he found his way into our care after his owner passed away. Having spent some time with us, he is now ready to find a home to call his own where he can play all day and snooze to his heart's content.

Dexter is a young boy with a lot of love to offer. He is still bouncy at times, but will soon settle with a little guidance from his carers. Since arriving to us his first love has always been tennis balls and he is very quick to respond when he knows a game of fetch is about to happen. But he also enjoys a fuss and taking a moment for himself to lean into his handlers for an extra cuddle or two.
Once settled, it is easy to forget that Dexter is a larger breed of dog as he does walk well on lead. His only cause to pull is a good scent trail that catches his attention, or the possibility of playing with another friendly dog.

Unfortunately before arriving into our care here at Block Fen, Dexter displayed a slight reactiveness to horses that resulted in him giving a horse a nip to the nose after he was caught by surprise. However we have taken steps here at the centre to review this and feel he can be managed passing horses in a safe manner. Steps have also been taken to introduce muzzle training and he continues to respond well to this. Despite the set-back before arrival, Dexter continues to be a happy boy and has been good with staff and dogs alike. He enjoys his walks and playing off-lead with his friends whenever possible.

Due to his size, Dexter is looking for an adult only home, or one with older children (16+) that have experience with larger breeds. Dexter will need a secure garden in which he can spend his downtime, and due to his fondness for other dogs we will consider applicants looking for another furry friend to join the family. Experience of bullbreeds would be desirable, or those experienced with larger breeds of dog.
