Meet the most wonderful boy Bruce! Both handsome and intelligent, Bruce arrived in our care alongside another dog after their previous living situation could not meet their needs. Bruce has found kennel life quite stressful and is desperately looking for a family who can love and appreciate how amazing he is.. just like we do!

Bruce's first love is a tennis ball! He would play fetch until his legs could no longer. Due to his love of tennis balls we also use this as a reward when doing his training. Bruce is highly intelligent and loves to learn and to please his handlers! He knows: Sit, Down, Wait, Come, Crawl, Touch, Middle and Middle on the Move. He would be the most perfect dog to do agility with or any training workshops which would enable him to use that brain of his. He is very focused on training in a one to one setting but we are building up his confidence and focus in high distraction environments, he has shown good progress. A member of staff regularly runs with him on her lunch break, and he absolutely loves this, he would make a great running partner for somebody.

Bruce loves people and is always actively wanting to go over to people and lean into them for a fuss! He has an incredibly BIG heart and loves company, he loves nothing more than to lay across your lap for a belly rub. For this reason we are looking for his new owners to be around for the majority of the time when settling Bruce into the home envrionment and then gradually introduce short periods of leave time when settled.

We have taken Bruce into the town centre to see what he would be like in a more urban environment, in time he was able to settle but overall it was quite an overwhelming experience for him! He much prefers the quiet and simple life. For this reason we are looking for a more rural or village location where Bruce can enjoy the quiet surroundings and allow him to relax and settle at his own pace in a quieter location. Bruce has shown positive interactions around other dogs with slow and positive introductions, but this will need ongoing work in the home to continue improving his excitement levels with dogs.

We would love to find Bruce an adult only home, or a home with older children who are experienced around Shephards and Malinois breeds. Bruce is looking for patient owners who can commit to continuing his socialisation and training to continue building his confidence. He has the most Loving, Sweet-natured Character! If you are looking for an active dog who you are going to enjoy training with but equally settle and enjoy having cuddles with then Bruce is your guy!
