Sweet Lyra arrived at the centre back in August last year. She has had a tough time of it before arriving and is now having to learn that she’s ok and doesn’t need to be worried about life. Lyra can be a bit hesitant of people at first but once she gets to know you and is confident with you then she loves a good cuddle. Potential adopters will need to be aware that there would need to be a few meetings with Lyra as things will need to be taken slow and steady as she can sometimes get overwhelmed.

Lyra has been gaining confidence since arriving and her personality is starting to shine through, she loves playing with toys in the paddock with her handler and having a good fuss. She also enjoys her walks and having sniffs in the grass. Lyra would really love someone who is confident and calm to help her feel confident and calm in herself.

The type of home that Lyra is looking for is an adult only one where she would be the only animal. Lyra really bonds with people once they have gained her trust so having a calm home environment is pivotal for her. Since arriving Lyra has had some struggles adjusting to kennel life, so because of this she has been following training plans set by a clinical behaviourist to try and make her time in kennels more manageable for her, following these practices when she gets adopted will help her grow in confidence and help her settle effectively. Lyra is a really loving dog who just needs someone who understands that she has been through a lot in her life and will need time and patience from people to get that trust.
