About Me

Breed: Cane Corso
Colour: Black & White
Age: 1 Year (approx)
Ref: 254393

Are you looking for a new best friend? Well look no further as this wonderful boy might just be the one!
Hooper is a 1 year old male Cane Corso who came into our care early last year. Sadly, Hooper and his siblings were found living in unsuitable conditions where their welfare needs were not being met.
As you can imagine, Hooper had a difficult start to life and has spent much of his puppyhood in kennels. Due to this, Hooper can lack confidence and become worried at the sight of novel objects, strangers and some dogs, and would like a family who are understanding, patient, and willing to put in the time to introduce him to new situations where he can slowly and safely learn about the world. Hooper would ideally join a family who have experience of large breeds in particular, as he is quite a big boy at 37kg, and is still a growing teenager who is finding his feet.
In the time we have known Hooper, he has shown us what a loving, trusting, and friendly boy he is, and he makes you smile no matter what he is up to. Hooper is a very clever boy too, being very willing to learn and eager to please, especially when there are a few treats involved! Hooper would love a family who enjoy positive reward-based training and scentwork games, which will help him to build his confidence, and support you both in creating a strong relationship through teamwork. Hooper also loves his walks, and walks well on lead, but initially this will need to be in quieter areas so he doesn't get overwhelmed with new sights and sounds. We will be able to provide support with his training once in his new home, so ideally his new owners will live within a reasonable driving distance of our centre at West Hatch.
As Hooper has not been in a home environment for a considerable time he will need someone home all of time initially to help him settle in and teach him that it is ok to be left alone. He may also need some toilet training refreshers so having someone at home will make this process much easier, but we do feel he will pick it up quickly.
Hooper is best suited to an adult-only home with no other pets.
Hooper is now ready and waiting for his new life to begin, so please send in an application with some details about your lifestyle and experience if you think he may be the one for you.
If you meet all of the above rehoming criteria, please complete this

It is really useful if you can please include lots of information on the type of home you can offer and your previous experience of dogs. Thank you for your interest in adopting; if you do not hear from us within two weeks then unfortunately we have not been able to proceed further with your application at this time.

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only dog in a home
  • I'd prefer not to live with a cat
  • I'm a bright spark

If you are interested in adopting an animal from West Hatch RSPCA, please have a look on "快活影院" in the first instance. Once you have seen an animal you are interested in, you can apply easily online via the link to a google form at the bottom of their profile. Once we receive the application, it will be reviewed by a member of staff, and if you are a suitable match we will then make contact to discuss the animal further. This will be either by email initially or by phone. We will then ask you to email us photos of your home and garden, as well as ID. This continues to replace the homevisit that we would have carried out pre-covid. We can then make an appointment for you to come to the centre to meet your chosen animal before you commit to adoption. Our reception is open from 11am - 3pm (closed weds) Our phone lines are open 11am - 3pm Tel: 0300 123 0747 Our emails are checked throughout every day, so please do feel free to contact us whdomcen@rspca.org.uk
